Catalog of the exhibition held in Florence at the Accademia delle Arti del Disegno (December 10th - December 30th 2015).The volume reproduces a selection of about 40 masterpieces of the Chinese artist Wang Hongjian. "What makes Wang Hongjian's art topical", Antonio Natali writes, "is first of all the cinematographic slant of the events depicted. The actors of the drama he presents stand out clearly and vividly on the forestage. And nature, serving as backdrop, often has romantic tones, either when looming massive and grandiose over suffering humanity, or when it stretches as far as the eye can see, on long beaches of sand and dust lapped by glowing seas, colored the same hues as the sky, with foreshortened boats filling the foreground; or in fields of stubble stretching to the faint line of a horizon heavy with mist; or on a vast marshy plain, green with a sprinkling of young grass, shining with distant tongues of water, quiet behind silent peasants engaged in packing grain".
